I'm no expert on anything about parenthood, but I've discovered that no matter how old your kids are, there are moments that happen as they mature for which you just can't prepare. In the past six months, my oldest daughter got married, graduated college and found out they will be moving to Oklahoma (ugh) for at least three years. While those are all major milestones that happen, it's little unexpected moments that get me. Like, in casual conversation, when she refers to "her husband." It seems like a couple of years ago I was driving her to soccer practice. Now she's a young adult with a husband. Time moves too damn fast sometimes.
