I was just thinking how ‘in your face’ it is as I watch a local city bus drive by with a DraftKings wrap. How is that shit on our public transportation vehicles?! So gross. I feel for those currently addicted and those that soon will be now that it’s just so easy. 😞
I downloaded the FanDuel app out of curiosity, figuring I'd do the free gimmie bet they give you for signing up. Bailed out at the part where you have to link your bank account. Way too easy. Way too dangerous. I've gone this long without betting on games, I can go the rest of my days without it. More fun to throw a $20 on the annual Super Bowl box in my barber shop, anyway. I either score some money or get to spend the duration of the next haircut complaining with them on how terrible our boxes were. I win either way.
A great read. I bet very rarely, just $10 at a time. But this article made me question even that. I was left with two questions:
1) you wrote “it was a friendly business relationship, until it wasn’t.” What happened? You mentioned “kneecaps” — was your ex physically harmed?
2) I’m curious about how your ex is doing now and whether gambling still rules his life. Pretty telling that your article made me care — sign of a great piece.

It is gross and it sickens me to see this happening. And, sadly, it will ruin some lives -- probably a lot of lives.
