I suppose the Minnesota Timberwolves defeating the Miami Heat - the Miami Heat! - brought me joy. That, and a nice compliment and follow-up from my history professor about a presentation I did in class.
1. The foliage is gone. It’s officially Stick Season. Next to no leaves fall in my yard. Extra joy.
2. Little* Boy’s soccer team pulled off a major upset in their quarterfinal game against the division’s #1 seed and next-town-over rival. They’re off to the state final four and whatever the outcome, that’s a nice capper to his high school soccer career. My joy is for him and his teammates.
3. It’s also World Series season ... the playoffs have been odd as can be, but thoroughly enjoyable (I have no horse in the race ... the most hometown team excitement was centered around wondering if *anyone* wanted to interview for the POBO position). I’m rooting for seven games.
