Oh, MAN. Some good music there. I know you're friends with Craig Calcaterra; today after reading Cup of Coffee, I had occasion to tell an old Replacements story of mine, about going to The (junior) Prom* with a girl whose second favorite band was the Replacements. Her first favorite band? James, heh heh heh. Anyway, Pleased To Meet Me is an album that for me has aged really well and keeps getting better. My specific take on PTMM is that it's my favorite album to listen to while driving on a rural two-lane, on a sunny day with the windows down. I live in Minneapolis but I do get around the Upper Midwest, to my hometown of Milwaukee and back and to elsewhere as well, and it's forever a core part of my driving soundtrack in memory. Pleased To Meet Me in the daytime, Springsteen's 'Nebraska' at night, and Bob Uecker calling Brewers games at various times of day.
Nice to see Zevon and Operation Ivy on there too. Not everything in life can be joyous, but I do really like these posts.
