Loved this week's essay. I'm very aware of the goofiness and fun of 100 Gecs, that's one that the kids and me can agree on. Also - go Islanders! I lived in NYC for awhile but was never a Rangers fan, meanwhile I've got many Islanders fans in my life.
Baseball made me feel good this week. I coach baseball in northern NH ... we started the season 1-1. Our loss was disappointing on a number of levels, but, you win or you learn. Hopefully, the boys learned.
New music discovery (the album, not the artist) ... Chuck D as Mistachuck ... “We Wreck Stadiums”. And to think I thought the rumored fourth album from The Baseball Project would be the musical baseball highlight of the year.
My local indie public radio station is doing a countdown in May of listener-submitted Songs About Places. I had a good time choosing 10 songs with a place in the title, especially ones that wouldn’t be found on mainstream radio.
Since you asked.... a Middle School teacher told me that I was "great", her "favorite substitute EA"..... Not bad for almost 70 ???
