Thank you for this. It's such a good description of what depression is like. Much better than my explanation that if a truck was bearing down on me I wouldn't move out of the way. And the idea of one action at a time. Good thing to remember. Thank you, thank you.

Also have felt that pull; doesn't matter what I've felt, but you *know* also the things in your head. I hope that the rest of you will find its way to support and act on your wanting to change. It's hard, hard, hard. One thing, though, for what it's worth - when you say, "I am guilty of giving in to the tyrant. " -- not sure that's something to feel guilt about. When it's bigger than you, it pulls. My hope is that you'll find the one thing and the next thing and then the next thing to get you away from the pull of the shore to where you can be at the shore and feel the water move both ways.

My own experience has at times felt like living and moving through a world filled with Jello that weighs on you and slows down everything. I hope you find some relief with changes to medication and other things you can do to improve your mood and outlook. Take care.
