Maybe a better mantra than "it is what it is" (which I tend to use a lot) is "this too shall pass," although for me it makes me anxious - "so when this is done, something ELSE is coming?!"

And I also hate "it is what it is" but you know what? Sometimes... it is.
I saw the the 40th anniversary tour of the Violent Femmes album a few months ago and it was a lot of fun.
